How much do people already earn through sharing?

Our survey shows: "UK consumers are missing a trick – there’s great potential for consumers to make and save significant cash by sharing, with the largely middle-class urbanite sharing community already earning £8 billion in 2012."
 

Consumers could benefit much more from sharing

The People Who Share commissioned Opinium Research to survey a representative sample of UK adults over 18 to answer the question about how much people already earn through sharing. We found that the everyday UK consumer could earn much more cash by participating in the Sharing Economy than they do right now. On average, a UK adult who engages in sharing makes an average of £335 and saves £99 a year. That's a meagre result compared to super-sharers who save as much as £20,000 through home swapping (source: LoveHomeSwap) or other sharing options.
